Baker-Polito Administration Releases 'MA Climate Change Assessment'

BOSTON — The Baker-Polito Administration, through the Executive Office of Energy and Environment Affairs (EEA), released the "MA Climate Change Assessment," the first statewide assessment detailing how Massachusetts people, environments, and infrastructure may be affected by climate change and related hazards through the end of the century.    This assessment will directly inform the first five-year update to the State Hazard Mitigation and Climate Adaptation Plan (SHMCAP) that will be released in Fall 2023. Massachusetts Adding Cannabis Education to Driving School Curriculum

BOSTON – The Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), in partnership with members of the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission and AAA Northeast today announced that as of January 2023, Massachusetts will be the first recreational-use cannabis state in the nation to adopt, "Shifting Gears: the Blunt Truth about Marijuana and Driving," a AAA curriculum that educates teens on the risks of cannabis-impaired driving.      The curriculum is taught through a 25-minute informative and easy to follow educational video that can be found at: https://youtu.be/AcB6yJpMvqg.    The announcement was made at the Worcester Registry of Motor Vehicles by Lt.

Pittsfield Celebrates Kwanzaa, Reflects on Principles

PITTSFIELD, Mass.—Community leaders, residents, and scholars gathered at Tyler Street Lab to celebrate Kwanzaa Thursday evening. 

Throughout the night attendees danced, sang, and cheered throughout the ceremony and honored and celebrated the African diaspora’s seven principles including Umoja(Unity), Kujichagulia (Self-Determination), Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility), Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics), Nia (Purpose), Kuumba (Creativity), and Imani (Faith).

The Women of Color Giving Circle and Rites of Passage and Empowerment (ROPE) organized the event designating this year's theme Umoja.

Healey and Driscoll Appoint Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary

Pittsfield Snow Removal Methods Questioned After Storm
