This award, presented by Robert Gettens, department chair and professor of biomedical engineering, is presented to a senior biomedical engineering student who has demonstrated academic success with an outstanding grade point average and has demonstrated professionalism in their studies. Dowling was also welcomed into Tau Beta Pi National Honor Society at the chapter's annual induction ceremony. The host and designated home team did most of its damage in the second inning, when it sent 15 hitters to the plate and scored 10 runs to build a commanding 15-1 advantage. Mayor Linda Tyer is updated on the search Tuesday afternoon. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Police and multiple other first-responder units have been searching Silver Lake for a missing person for the majority of the day. The police got a report around noon on Tuesday that there may be a person in the lake and set up a command center on location within the hour. Cpt. Gary Traversa said police have evidence to support that this may have been the person's last location. "We're still looking. Juvenile Injured in Pittsfield Shooting03:52PM / Tuesday, July 19, 2022 | | PITTSFIELD, Mass. — A boy was shot early Tuesday morning and taken to Berkshire Medical Center with wounds that were no considered life-threatening, according to police. Police report that officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation about 12:25 a.m. on Tuesday in the area of Pleasant Street. The activation indicated multiple rounds were fired. Responding officers arrived on scene and located the victim. A home had also been struck by gunfire and officers located additional ballistic evidence on scene. During the meeting, the board voted to have Gwen Miller as the new chair after Jeff DeChaine decided not to run for another 5-year term. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Historical Commission is torn on a demolition delay application from Berkshire Theatre Group for a carriage house located behind the Thaddeus Clapp House. The panel decided to take some extra time with the application last week and will have a site visit to the structure. After BTG spent more than $1 million to restore the Clapp House, a professional assessment indicated that the best path forward for the barn is to take it down.
