North Adams And Pittsfield Win Openning Round Games.

The 15 Year Old Babe Ruth All Star Tournament started Thursday night with North Adams defeating Adams at Joe Wolf Field 6-5. Ian Brink pitched five innings and recorded six strike outs to pick up the win. He also helped himself by driving in two runs with a single. Dan Flynn also had a single and scored two runs.

For Adams Eric Sneizek pitched six innings with three strike outs, but took the loss. Zach Wright had three hits for Adams including a double, and Mike Koperniak recorded two hits, one being a double and a run scored.


Pittsfield's Devon Johnston, Joey Dewey and Kevin Donati combined to pitch a five inning no hitter in the second game of the evening against

Hank Barrett scored 23 points and Nathan Majumder had 19 points and seven rebounds as Mt. Greylock went on to beat the previously unbeaten Running Rebels 65-41. For the Running Rebels it was Treyvon Sims scoring 15 points and grabbing eight rebounds to go with two blocked shots. Mike Taylor chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Elm St. Service / Pizza House defeated Freight Yard Pub Thursday night, 48-21. For Elm St. it was Erica Cahoon leading the way with 16 points and eight rebounds followed by Courtney Kegresse with nine points, six rebounds and two blocks. For Freight Yard Pub, Rachelle Klammer and Deanna Trumble each had five points.

In the High School Division it was Drury outlasting Mt. Greylock onWednesday night, 51-44. Isaiah Pontoja poured in 24 points for Drury And Nick Trombley had 10 points. For Mt. Greylock it was Tyler Picard with 16 points and five rebounds and Nathan Majumder contributed 12 points, five rebounds and a blocked shot.

The Hub / Farrington Construction beat N.A. Law last night 48-35. Nick Andrews was high man for the Hub with 10 points and nine rebounds. Ryan Morrissey, Kevin Engwire, Jessie Hakes and Bendon Bullett all scored eight points N.A. Law's Richard Johnson scored 12 points and had six rebounds and two blocked shots.

Berkshire County Babe Ruth All-Star Event Coming This Weekend

The Berkshire County Babe Ruth All-Star Event takes place this weekend with three age groups competing. The 15-year-old division has teams from North Adams, Adams, Pittsfield and Southern Berkshire. North Adams plays Adams at Joe Wolf Field on Thursday, June 28, at 5 p.m. followed at 8 p.m. by Pittsfield and Southern Berkshire.

The 14-year-old division is being held in Pittsfield, with three teams, North Adams, Adams and Pittsfield. Adams will face North Adams at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, at Deming Field .

The 13-year-old division has two teams entered: North Adams and Pittsfield.They also will start on Thursday night,at 5 p.m. at Mt. Greylock High School.
