DIGITAL PAINTING WORKSHOP
Stockbridge, 1-3 p.m.
Norman Rockwell Museum will present a digital painting workshop, with gaming artist and museum educator Patrick O’Donnell exploring the step-by-step process used in creating digital artworks in Adobe Photoshop. Participants will learn how to gather reference, match color and collage, and the methods used to design seamless virtual scenes. Admission costs $20; registration requested by contacting the museum by email or by calling 413-931-2221.

FICTION READING BY STEVEN DUNN
North Adams, 7 p.m.
Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) presents a reading with Q & A by fiction writer Steven Dunn on Monday, October 22 at 7 PM in MCLA's Gallery 51 (51 Main Street in North Adams, MA).  Steven Dunn is the author of two innovative novels from Tarpaulin Sky Press, Potted Meat (2016) and water & power (2018). Potted Meat was a finalist for the Colorado Book Award and shortlisted for Granta’s Best of Young American Novelists. He was born and raised in West Virginia, and is currently an MFA student at Goddard College, and a MFA advisor at Regis University.

HOMESCHOOL STEAM DAY
Pittsfield, 9:30 a.m.-noon
The Berkshire Museum presents Homeschool STEAM Day to kick off Massachusetts STEM Week. Homeschool families are invited to a day of science, technology, engineering, art, and math through hands-on experiences in the galleries.  The day will begin with a welcome reception, during which families can enjoy snacks and learn about the museum’s winter/spring Homeschool STEAM Session offerings before starting their adventures in the galleries. Special activities will be available from 10 a.m. to noon and a lunch space will be available to families wishing to extend their day at the museum. Preregistration is encouraged. Tickets include admission to the museum for the entire day and are $15 per child; accompanying adults and children under 4 are free. Call 413-443-7171, ext. 336.
