CHICKEN BARBECUE
Dalton, 4-7 p.m.
The Dalton United Methodist Church will hold its 11th annual chicken barbecue. The barbecue is a collaborative event with the Dalton Fire Department in which the proceeds are divided evenly between the fire department and the church's capital campaign. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door ($6 for age 12 and under) and can be obtained by contacting the church at 413-684-0521.

COMMUNITY SHRED DAY
Pittsfield, 9 a.m.-noon
The Pittsfield High School Alpine Ski Team will hold a Community Shred Day in the Pittsfield High School Parking Lot. The PHS Team suggests a $2 donation per box from people looking to dispose of personal documents. The team will help to take boxes out of vehicles, do all the heavy lifting, to provide an easy and quick way to shred personal documents. PROSHRED will supply a mobile shredding truck for the event to provide proper disposal of private documents. People will able to witness the shredding process via a closed circuit monitor mounted on the truck.

COMMUNITY TAG SALE
New York, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
The 20th annual Stephentown Community Tag Sale, part of the first ever Celebrate Stephentown weekend, will be held at Gardner's Field, 15879 Route 22 in Stephentown, N.Y. Selling spaces will be available for individuals or organizations for only $20. Bring your own tables, chairs, shade and any other needed equipment. Vendors should not arrive before 8 a.m. on the day of the sale.

NUT AND BOLT POKER RUN
Adams, 9 a.m.
The Hoosac Valley Motorcycle Club will be host its annual Nut and Bolt Poker Run, open to the public and all types of bikes and riders to ride 100 miles of some of the nicest roads in North Berkshires, Vermont and Eastern New York. The event is also a Poker Run, so there will be a $10 fee at the beginning to get cards at the end of the ride to win. This is a "ride at your own pace" ride, using a route sheet with directions. Riders that want to see the sights should plan on leaving at 9 a.m. Last riders will be leaving at 11  a.m. The start is at the HVMC Clubhouse off Alger Street in Adams and ends on Henry Wood Road in Cheshire where food will be available to purchase. If it rains, plan on driving the car.

The Friends of Adams Free Library, 92 Park St., will hold the annual sale of nearly new, used and donated adult and children’s books, paperbacks, magazines and other items from Aug. 22-24.  The sale will be held in the lower Miller Annex. Also on sale that week will be freshly baked items and raffle tickets for gift baskets.

The sale continues with free admission from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.  Visitors to the event are asked to bring their own bags and boxes.

HORSE SHOW
Lenox, 9 a.m.
Overmeade Farm will host the 25th Berkshire Humane Society Horse Show and is free to the public to watch. This event is recognized by the Western New England Professional Horseman’s Association. Riders participate in hunter and equitation classes, both on the flat and over fences. For more information, call 413-499-2850.

SHARING ROOTS FESTIVAL
Pittsfield, Noon to 5 p.m.
The 15th Annual St. Joseph Festival of Sharing Roots Sunday, September 10, 2017 From 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM on the grounds of St. Joseph Parish at 414 North St., Pittsfield, MA. Free admission and Kiddy Land. Entertainment will begin at 12:30 PM featuring local musicians. Food booths will represent American, Brazilian, French, Italian, and Polish. Food basket raffle, toy basket raffle and lottery ticket raffle and a 50/50 raffle. The craft area will be displaying goods for sale. Bring your lawn chair for an afternoon of fun and enjoyment.
