The Berkshire Athenaeum will present Sensory Story times, targeted to families with children on the autism spectrum. No registration is required. Customized to the children’s needs, these programs include prompts to provide a tangible way for children to follow a story line and a structure that helps with transition from one activity to the next.

FAIRY HOUSE CRAFT
Adams, 6 p.m.
Adams Free Library will host Minstrel Storyteller Mary Jo Maichack in a participatory family program especially recommended for children ages 4 and older with their caregivers. “Fairy House Craft” is a delightful “make and take” workshop celebrating the summer reading theme, “Build a Better World at Your Library.” The show is free and open to the public. Families will receive natural woodland materials such as acorn, twigs, bark and pine cones and use glue and imagination to create tiny houses or furniture for fairies, in small containers. If families wish to bring more of their own woodland materials, they are welcome to do so.

DownStreet Art kicks off its 10th season, featuring a wide program of visual and performing art events including exhibitions, video screenings and site-specific installations in downtown North Adams. Bowey the Clown is an award-winning family entertainer that has been delighting audiences for years with his comical blend of magic, ventriloquism, and awesome balloon art. Bowey started to perform when he was nine years old. He is a trained actor and a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He has performed with Rafi and Pete Seeger and has performed at thousands of birthday parties. Bowey is truly the clown the kids always want to see again. Admission free.
