Berkshire Family & Individual Resources will host its annual meeting at the Berkshire Hills Country Club, 500 Benedict Road. The breakfast will include the presentation of several awards for employee recognition, as well as the recognition of the community partner of the year, Richard Alcombright, former mayor of North Adams and longtime advocate for people with disabilities who currently serves as vice president of local business and customer relations manager at MountainOne. This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Chris May, advocate and photographer. A young man living with Down Syndrome, Chris has worked hard to advocate for himself and others at the State House and in Washington. CLAPP PARK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT MEETING
Pittsfield, 6:30-8 p.m.
The Office of Community Development’s first public input meeting pertaining to the Clapp Park improvement project will be held at the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center, 330 North St. The city, working with landscape architects from Berkshire Design Group, is in the process of gathering input from park users and the community at-large on ideas for the rehabilitation of this important city park. Additional meetings will be scheduled in May to review design options.

BUILD THE MAC

Community Meeting for Build The MAC! The public is invited to attend an "open house" meeting Thursday, May 3rd 2018. Our mission is to create a multi-use performing arts facility in Northern Berkshire County for children, adults, local artists and performers. The center will also be a venue for other area organizations for dance, voice, music, comedy, theatre, and studio spaces. We welcome all of Northern Berkshire County to join us in learning about the Minerva Arts Center, Build the MAC Project and steps to achieving our our goal of raising $100,000 by August 1st! Minerva Arts Center is ready to take the next step and create a performing arts facility to call home for our community and local residents! Event will be held Thursday, May 3rd 6:00-7:30 pm at Orchards Hotel. Presentation at 6:30, followed by Q & A. Light refreshments will be served.
