PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Lorraine Helen Brzostek, 87, formerly of Rose Manor, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Home.
She was born in Fitchburg, Mass., on August 27, 1929, the daughter of the late Albert E. and Marion Campbell Valliere. She was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School; she also attended cosmetology school.
Lorraine had worked as a cosmetics consultant for the former Wendell Pharmacy. She later worked as a waitress for various restaurants in Berkshire County. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, where she sang in the choir. She loved to sing and was an exceptional baker.
Mrs. Brzostek is survived by her two daughters, Linda M. Poplaski of Pittsfield and Leslie A. Brzostek of Pittsfield; her two sons, Frank A. Brzostek of Pittsfield, and Michael J. Brzostek and his wife Diane of Dalton; her former husband, Frank S. Brzostek of Pittsfield; her brother, Arthur Valliere and his wife Anna of Enfield, Conn.; five grandchildren, Paula, Janice, Brittany, Michael and Mathieu; five great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Stephanie, Joshua, Sean and Arianna; and her beloved cat Inka.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial and celebration of Lorraine's life will be Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church with Mnsgr. Michael Shershanovich, Pastor, officiating.
Calling hours will be Friday, February 10, 2017, at the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, in care of the funeral home.
