Virginia B. Schwarzer, 76

PITTSFIELD, Mass — Virginia B. Schwarzer, 76, of 20 Frederick St., formerly of Adams, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
Born in North Adams on March 25, 1940, daughter of the late George and Florence Ankers Beverly, she attended Williamstown schools. Later in life she moved to Adams, and then to Pittsfield. She was employed for many years for the former Price Chopper Supermarket in North Adams and also for Price Chopper in Pittsfield, where she worked in the bakery.
Virginia was a fifty-year member of the Naomi Chapter 17 Order of the Eastern Star in North Adams, a long time member of Adams Post 160 of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and Past President, also was a member of Post 1995 of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Adams. She enjoyed gardening.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Ralph Schwarzer, whom she married on July 4, 1979; a son, Nelson E. Ogert and his wife Crystal of Clarksburg; a daughter, Kim Marie Houle of Leominster, Mass.; two brothers, Harry Beverly Sr. and his wife Mary of Barefoot Bay, Fla., and George Beverly Jr. of North Adams; two sisters, Susan Raimer and Bonnie Cahoon and her husband Charles, all of North Adams; three grandchildren, Beth Marie Houle, James Brian Houle and Marie Ann Peckham; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Daniel Ogert; and a daughter, Tammy Peckham.
Funeral notice: Services for Virginia will take place Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 7 p.m. from the Trottier Pringle Funeral Home, 6 Summer St., Adams, with the Rev. Steven G. Montesanti, pastor of the Parish of St. John Paul II in Adams, officiating.
Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Donations in her memory can be made to Naomi Chapter 17 Order of the Eastern Star in care of the funeral home.
