Carrie G. Dymek, 94

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Carrie Genevieve Dymek, 94, formerly of Kent Avenue, later of Rose Manor, and for the past four years of Fairview Commons, died Monday, May 1, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center.



Born in Pittsfield on November 1, 1922, the daughter of Alexander and Teofilia Stachlek Mlynarczyk, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1941 graduate of Pittsfield High School.



Mrs. Dymek was employed in the Accounting Department of Union Federal Savings and Loan Association which later became ComFed Savings Bank. She retired in 1987 with 29 1/2 years service.



Mrs. Dymek was a communicant of St. Joseph Church. She had been a communicant of the former Holy Family Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society and a member of the Mother’s Guild.



She enjoyed swimming at the YMCA and walking.



Her husband, Raymond S. Dymek, whom she married May 26, 1945, in Holy Family Church, died March 15, 1992.



Mrs. Dymek is survived by her son, Frederick W. Dymek and his wife, Patricia A. Dymek, of Housatonic; two granddaughters, Amy Dymek Tirrel and her husband, David of Foster, R.I., and Erin Dymek and her friend, Rick Huemme, of Claremont, N.H; and two great-grandchildren, Sophie Tirrel and John Tirrel. 



She was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.



Funeral notice: Funeral services for Carrie G. Dymek will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow in St Joseph’s Cemetery. 



Calling hours will precede the funeral, beginning at 8:30 a.m., at Dery Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church or to Elder Services of Berkshire County both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
