Elaine Madden, 80

August 24, 2017


PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Elaine F. Madden, 80, of Lee, Mass., and Bradenton, Fla., passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. 



Born on January 15, 1937, in Pittsfield, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale and Rose Mazzeo Frieri. She was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1954 graduate of Pittsfield High School. 



Mrs. Madden worked as the office manager for her husband’s chiropractic practice, Madden Chiropractic, for over forty years. She had also worked at one time at General Electric as a switchboard operator. She retired in 1999. 



She was a communicant of St. Peter, Paul & Mary Church in Bradenton, Fla. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping and going out to dinner with family and friends. She had been crowned the Homecoming Queen of the GEAA in 1957. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. 



She leaves her husband, Dr. Clifford Madden of Bradenton, Fla.; a son, Dr. Keith Madden and his wife Debbie of South Windsor, Conn.; two daughters, Darlene M. Esposito of Pittsfield and Kim E. Madden of Pittsfield; two sisters, Elizabeth Brown and Mary Markham, both of Pittsfield; her eight adoring grandchildren, Michael Esposito, Anthony Esposito, Zachary Bump, Kaleigh McLellan, Brielle Netzer, Shannon Netzer, Sam Madden and Angela Madden; her great-granddaughter, Cecelia Elaine Esposito; and many nieces and nephews. 



She was predeceased by her brother, the late Ralph Frieri. 



Funeral notice: Funeral services for Elaine F. Madden, who passed away August 24, 2017, will be held Monday, August 28, 2017, at 6 p.m. at the Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Calling hours will be held prior to the service on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
