Arthur 'Jack' Stohlmann, 81

January 12, 2018


PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mr. Arthur John "Jack" Stohlmann, 81, of Adams died Friday morning, January 12, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.



He was born in Adams on April 3, 1936, son of the late Arthur A. and Helen I. (Mogul) Stohlmann. He attended Adams schools, and graduated from the former Adams High School with the Class of 1953. He then graduated from the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at UMASS Amherst in 1955.



Jack operated his family’s dairy farm on East Hoosac Street in Adams for many years, until retiring several years ago. He was very active in 4-H as a youth, and won many prizes showing his animals at fairs.



He was a member of Berkshire Lodge of Masons, Adams, and of Franklin Chapter 92 of the Order of the Eastern Star.



He is survived by two sisters, Sylvia Gardner of Kentucky, and Helen Storey of Florida; his former wife, Martha J. (Tisdale) Stohlmann, of Adams; as well as several nieces and nephews.



He was predeceased by a sister, Bernice Sullivan.



Funeral notice: A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at 2 p.m. in Maple Street Cemetery in Adams. Rev. David Anderson, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, North Adams, will officiate. There are no calling hours.



Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201. The Paciorek Funeral Home, Adams, is in charge of arrangements.
