Linda M. Collins, 61

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Linda Marie Collins, 61, of Pittsfield, Mass., died at her home on Sunday, March 4, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer.



Linda was born on October 17, 1956, in Pittsfield a daughter of Judy Blair Taylor and the late Leverne J. Taylor. She attended Hibbard Elementary School and South Junior High School and was a 1974 graduate of Pittsfield High School.



A homemaker, she was a communicant of Saint Joseph's Church. She enjoyed cross stitch, reading, adult coloring, crafts, making Christmas Ornaments and baking. She was a fan of the Oakland Raiders. She had a great admiration for cardinals and when her Dad was living she enjoyed drinking coffee with him on the back deck.



Besides her mother of Pittsfield, she is survived by her husband, Michael J. Collins Sr., whom she married on July 18, 1981, in Dalton, Mass.; two daughters, Amanda L. and Katie L. Collins, both of Pittsfield; a stepson, Michael J. Collins Jr. and his wife Lori of Pittsfield; her granddaughter, Chloe Gordon of Pittsfield; and two brothers, Steven J. Taylor and his wife Laura of Pittsfield and Gregg M. Taylor of Pittsfield.



She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Beth Taylor, on April 10, 2017.



Funeral notice: Funeral services for Linda M. Collins will be held, Friday, March 9, 2018, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Church, celebrated by the Rev. Msgr. Michael Shershanovich, Pastor. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery.



Calling hours at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, Mass., will be Thursday, March 8, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires or The Berkshire Humane Society both in care of the funeral home.
