Joseph T. Bonacquisti, 79

October 29, 2018


PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Joseph T. Bonacquisti of Pittsfield, Mass., passed away peacefully early Monday morning, October 29, 2018, surrounded by family after a short illness. 



Joseph was born September 11, 1939, a son of the late Mariano and Concetta DeSantis Bonacquisti. He attended local public schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in the class of 1957. Joe retired in 1995 as a District Manager of Central Market, The Golub Corporation, after 41 years of service. 



Joe was an active volunteer in the community throughout his lifetime with years of involvement with UNICO, Jimmy Fund, and Make-A-Wish foundation, as well as numerous other foundations and fundraisers. Joe spent much of his time helping all those in need. Joe was proudest of his family and his grandchildren, attending the baseball games of his sons and grandsons as well as golfing with his son Jeff and grandson Brian. 



Joe was an avid golfer in his retirement with many friends as well. Joe spent much of his time with family, friends, and loved ones doing the things he loved.



Joe is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Hancock Bonacquisti; son Joseph Bonacquisti; son Jeffrey Bonacquisti and his wife Jill; daughter Tracey Arpante and her fiancé Mark; grandchildren Seth and Gianna Bonacquisti, Mitchell and Gabrielle Arpante, and Brian and Alyssia Bonacquisti; brother John Bonacquisti and his wife Fannie; brother Anthony Bonacquisti and his wife Therese; sister Antoinette “Bonnie” Mele; sister Elizabeth Unbehend; sister Sandra Lovato and her husband Bruno' and many nieces and nephews. 



He was predeceased by a brother, Angelo Bonacquisti; and a sister, Catherine Allessio. 



Joseph will be greatly missed by all that knew him.



Funeral notice: At Joseph's request, calling hours and services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for UNICO of Pittsfield in care of the Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements.

So sorry to read of Joe’s passing. I have so many fond memories of our years together at PC. He was a gentleman’s gentleman for sure. My thoughts are with his family at this time.
