Police have closed off a portion of West Housatonic Street for road construction on October 24, 2013. The road is closed between South Street and Center Street.
The 18 month renovation of the Probate Court has begun. The building will stay open during the $2.8 million construction but access will be somewhat more difficult because the lawn of the neighboring property will be used as staging. Those coming from Wendell Avenue will need to follow the sidewalk around instead of cutting through the other courts.
We had some free time this week to walk the 2-mile loop through the downtown. Here's a few of things that caught our eye. (In between taking photos, we were heel-toeing and arm-pumping as prescribed.)
