PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Soccer Domain Academy is offering position-specific clinics in July and August as well as a five-day soccer camp the third week in July.   The clinics will focus on topics that include ball mastery, striker training, defender training, goalkeeping, and SAQ (speed, agility and quickness).   A monthly pass to all sessions is $90.   The clinics will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 12-14 and Aug. 9-11 at Fred Garner Park.   SDA will offer 5 Days of Soccer Fun for four different groups -- juniors 7-9, high performance 7-9, youth academy 9-12 and elite training 12-14 -- Monday through Friday, July 18-22, at Clapp Park from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.   For

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. -- The Lanesborough Bulldogs Cal Ripken Baseball all-star team will look to defend its Western Mass State Championship when the tournament gets under way on Friday at Bill Laston Field.   The Bulldogs and South Berkshire will both be in action in the tournament’s first games at 5:30 p.m. Host Lanesborough will take on Westminster while South Berkshire plays Narragansett as the teams try to stay in the winner’s bracket of the double-elimination tourney.   The action continues on Saturday at 9 a.m. and Sunday at 10 with the state title game set for Tuesday, July 5, at 5:30. The Berkshire Mountaineers seventh grade AAU girls basketball team went 4-0 to win a recent tournament in Portland Maine.   The team is 19-4 with one more tournament left in its season.   The sixth/seventh-grade team includes: Delaney Babcock, Abby Bird, Rylie Bishop, Abby Hugger, Alyssa Garabedian, Jayden Johnson, Sharaya Keele, Averie McGrath, Kaylee Tatro, Grace Towler and Rylynn Witek.   The team is coached by Shaun McGrath and Jeff Johnson.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Berkshire County is holding its 18th annual golf tournament fundraiser on Monday, July 18, at Wahconah Country Club in Dalton.

Proceeds raised from the event will be used to benefit programs for more than 2,400 children and adults with any type of disability throughout Berkshire County.

Players can sign up as individuals or as a team of four. The $135 per-golfer ($540/team) entry fee includes green fees, golf cart, lunch, buffet dinner and gift. The Northern Berkshire Phenoms put the bow on their third season over the Father's Day weekend.   The 17-and-under team finished second in the varsity division at the inaugural Summer Heat Check Invitational tournament hosted by the Boys and Girls Club of Pittsfield. The 14-and-under team kept busy too, winning the 8th-grade division in Pittsfield and losing in the semi-finals at the Basketball Summer Tip-Off Classic in Springfield.    After a short break from the winter season, the two teams hit the gym again in April to play a six-tournament schedule. LANESBOROUGH, Mass. -- Jonahthan Monahan went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a home run Sunday to lead the Pittsfield Nationals to a 16-12 win over the Lanesborough Bulldogs Cal Ripken baseball team.   Oscar Lowe, Derek Paris and Jack Cangelosi each had a pair of hits for Lanesborough.   Monahan combined with three other Pittsfield pitchers to strike out 11 and allow seven earned runs in the win.   Lanesborough (4-6) travels to play the South Berkshire All-Stars on Friday.
