Pittsfield Searching For Official Christmas Tree

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Pittsfield Department of Community Development Recreation Program is asking anyone who is willing to donate an evergreen tree for use as the city's official Christmas tree at Park Square to call its office no later than Oct. 26.
 
Criteria for eligble trees:
  • Minimum height of approximately 30 feet
  • Superior shape
  • Ease of access for cutting
  • Adequate room to safely fall the tree
  • Ease of tree transportation
Screening and selection of trees will take place the week of Oct. 29.  Cutting and installation of the tree at Park Square will be scheduled soon after the tree has been selected.  For more information contact Pittsfield's Recreation Activities coordinator, Rebecca Tefft, at 413-499-9370.
