Friday-Sunday: Last Weekend of Hairspray Jr At Berkshire Museum
Based on the film and Tony Award-winning stage musical of the same name, Hairspray JR. features the popular songs You Can't Stop the Beat and Good Morning Baltimore. Filled with energetic dance numbers and unique characters, Hairspray JR. follows spunky plus-sized teen, Tracy Turnblad as she pursues her dream of dancing on national television and navigates the racial tensions and stereotypes of the 1960s.

Friday+: Seussical at The Colonial
Dr. Seuss' most-beloved stories all spring to life in one magical musical with all of his classic characters: Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, the Whos of Whoville, Gertrude McFuzz, Jojo and more! For the second time in a BTG community production, actors will be flown through The Colonial Theatre. Last year's community production Peter Pan was a successful production, "The memory [of Peter Pan] will linger as a sterling example of the important mission of our area's performing-arts companies…touching the hearts of thousands of Berkshire youngsters through the irreplaceable joy of live theater, music and dance,” said Clarence Fanto of The Berkshire Eagle.

This is the world premiere of a new romantic comedy about a young man with Asperger's seeking the instruction of a Broadway dancer, now sidelined with injuries. As their relationship unfolds, they're caught off-guard by the surprising discoveries – both hilarious and heartwarming – that they make about each other. Dancing Lessons marks the eighth world premiere BSC will produce of Associate Artist Mark St. Germain's work.

Saturday+: Stick Your Hands In History At Arrowhead
Saturdays in July and August, middle school children will be offered the opportunity to explore the creative intersection of art and history by using objects from the Historical Society's collection to curate an exhibit on the theme of Art + Industry. Each exhibit created from a pool of 60 items, will be on display for one week and will change each Saturday. The program is free and open to all middle school children.

Using extensive interviews and documentation of artwork installed around the world, Sol LeWitt sensitively explores the artist's work and philosophy.
