The 1983 Blazer is being sold for parts and scrap only.

The 1986 GMC being sold by the Fire Department needs some maintenance.

LANESBOROUGH, Mass. — The town is selling two former Fire Department trucks.

The vehicles are a 1983 Chevrolet Blazer and a 1986 GMC Forest Fire truck.

The Blazer is being sold as is with a minimum bid of $250. The truck is for parts or scrap. The forest fire vehicle is in usable condition.

The vehicle is in need of maintenance but has only 30,761 miles on it. A minimum bid for that is $1,600.

The vehicles are parked behind the fire station. Sealed bids are due to the town secretary at Town Hall by noon on March 31.

The Selectmen do have the right to reject any and all bids.

The board members have already rejected one set of bids because they felt they were too low. They added the minimum bid requirement.

"We were only offered $1,500. I believe the trucks are worth more," said Chairman John Goerlach.
