LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. - Host Lawrencburg scored 12 runs in the first inning on the way to a 14-1 win over the Pittsfield Babe Ruth 15-year-old All-Stars on Saturday night at the World Series.
Izaiya Mestre scored the game's first run in the top of the first, but it was all Lawrenceburg after that.
Drew DeMartino and Jack Cooney accounted for Pittsfield's two hits.
Jake McNeice, Jacbo Flynn and Kyle Crocker combined on the pitching duties for a game that ended in the middle of the fifth.
Pittsfield, the New England regional champ, looks to bounce back Sunday night as it continues pool play with a game against the Middle Atlantic regional champion.
