LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. -- Izaiya Mestre and Jacob Flynn combined on a two-hitter as the Pittsfield All-Stars defeated the Midwest Plains regional champions, 6-0, on Monday at the Babe Ruth Baseball 15-year-old World Series.

 

Mestre struck out eight and allowed one hit over five innings before Flynn came on to pitch the sixth and seventh.

 

Mestre also went 1-for-2 with an RBI, and Brett Murphy singled and scored a run as Pittsfield (2-2) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to break open a 1-0 game.
