PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Five Miss Hall’s School musicians and vocalists, including a senior from Dalton, have successfully auditioned for the Massachusetts Music Educators Association’s Western District Festival Concert to be held in January.

Natalia Soborski of Dalton was chosen to sing as a soprano in the festival’s District Chorus, where she will be joined by junior Tiffany Chen and senior Della Qin, both of whom sing alto and are from China. Chosen from Miss Hall’s to play violin in this year’s District Orchestra are juniors Meigue Mollaioli, of Italy, and Se Ri Park ’17, of South Korea.

This is the fourth time Natalia has been selected for the festival. Each of the past three years, she was selected to perform as a violinist with the District Orchestra. Della is making her third appearance at the festival, and this will be Se Ri’s second festival performance.

The girls successfully auditioned in early November to perform in the Senior Festival Concert, which will be held at 3 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 16 (snow date of Jan. 17), at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

The MMEA, which is the state division of the National Association for Music Education, sponsors annual District and State Music Senior Festivals that are open to all secondary school musicians in both public and private schools. MHS began participating in the event about thirty years ago and typically has several students perform each year at the District Festival Concert.
