Greylock Youth Basketball Team Shows Heart in N.A. Tourney

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Housatonic defeated Greylock, 46-41, on Sunday to end Greylock's run in this weekend's fifth- and sixth-grade youth basketball tournament.
 
Derek Paris and Thomas martin scored 12 points apiece to lead Greylock.
 
Earlier in the tournament, Greylock picked up a 45-29 win over Dalton that saw Tate Kuster lead the way with 17 points. Brody Culvert and Max Tablor each scored eight for Dalton.
 
Adams handed Greylock a 45-34 loss behind Carson Meczywor's 14 points.
 
Paris scored 14 points, and Max McAlister added five for Greylock in that loss, which saw Adams jump out to a 17-0 lead.
 
"I was very proud of how they kept playing and did not throw in the towel," Greylock coach Rick Paris said. "It shows me that they really care and are willing to keep fighting no matter what."
 
Greylock opened the tournament with a hard-fought 36-35 loss to the Boys Club Blue team, the eventual tournament champion.
 
Derek Paris scored 14, and Alex Axt added nine. Jayden Keefner and Bryson Jezewski led Boys Club with 11 and 8, respectively.
