WESTFIELD, Mass. -- With “Rip City” hand-written on their cleats in honor of Coach Buddy Pellerin, the Pittsfield Babe Ruth 14-year-old all stars Friday started their postseason journey with an 8-2 win over Westfield at Bullens Field.

 

Jett Steinman pitched a strong six innings with five strikeouts. He also had a double and a single with three RBIs.

 

Nick Taylor had three hits and two stolen bases. Lucien Lamoureaux also chipped in with an RBI double for the winners.

 

Pittsfield's post season dedicated to Pellerin continues when they play Nipmuc on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Deming Park.
