The Hudson Valley Tournament tournament, which took place in New York, saw teams competing from all over the East Coast and the standard was very good throughout.

U11 Boys
After just missing out on the league title, this team was more determined than ever and bounced back after a disheartening loss in its first game Saturday. The U11 boys went on to show great determination and fight to win its next three games and achieve second place trophies at the end of the tournament. Again a shining reflection on the character of this team.

U12 Boys
The U12s came into the tournament off the back of a very challenging season. The first game saw a very competitive first half performance fade away in the second half to lose 5-3, against a very talented side. The push for an equalizer that didn’t quite materialize in the second game, resulting in a 3-2 loss Sunday’s first game saw a very good performance and the first three points of the tournament with a 2-1 win, followed by a harsh 4-3 defeat.

U12 Girls
After a difficult season, SDA U12 girls started the tournament with a convincing 5-1 win. The second game of the day came against a very talented and physical side that saw the girls go down 4-1. With the Sunday games beginning, the U12s had it all to play for; another win would see them in the championship match. The opponents were very hard to break down but midway into the second half SDA found two goals in quick succession in order to put itself in the final. Arsenal had a lot of quality and talent all over the field, the final saw SDA go down 5-0 but pick up second place trophies.

U13 Girls
After a season of mixed results, the U13 girls wanted to turn performance into results, a tight 1-0 win from the first game put them in a good position, unfortunately the second game ended in defeat, meaning they had three points at the end of day 1. The girls had everything to play for on the Sunday, the first game proved to be a tough challenge with them once again running out 1-0 winners, giving them every chance of becoming champions. After a break SDA played top of the group and were unfortunately outclassed by a very good team, final score 5-0.

U14 Boys
The U14s were the highlight of the tournament with regards to SDA teams. Although not looking entirely convincing through some periods of their first game, they came out with a 3-1 win. They then put on a fine display in the second game running out 2-0 winners although a could have been much more. Their fine form continued on the Sunday with two impressive victories, gaining them the championship.
