Barrington Stage Names New Trustees

PITTSFIELD, Mass.— Barrington Stage Company has welcomed Warren C. Dews Jr.,  Isanne Fisher and Eleanore Velez to the Board of Trustees.

"I am thrilled to welcome three dynamic new board members to the Barrington Stage family.  They will give our board and our organization a richer, deeper understanding of our Berkshire community and how we can serve it more effectively," said ​Artistic Director Julianne Boyd.

Dews Jr. has worked in the media industry for close to two decades. Dews’ ascent in the field is evident by his former roles. Initially, he held positions such as Telemarketing Supervisor, Single Copy Sales Manager, Sales & Marketing Manager, Circulation Director and then VP of Circulation. Dews also has over 23 years combined experience working in the Circulation, Advertising (Print/Digital) and Marketing sides of the business. For almost two years he helped run the Ad Sales Department at The Berkshire Eagle while managing Circulation Sales for the New England Newspaper Inc. Currently, Dews is the Vice President of Audience Development, of New England Newspapers, Inc. and has been with the company since January of 2010. He and​ his wife Roberta have​ three children: ​Warren III, West and Kennedy.

Fisher is the retired president and CEO of Beautique Medical Esthetics, an exclusive medi-spa center focusing on non-invasive medicine-based cosmetic procedures located in Toronto, Canada.  Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Fisher and her husband, Sanford (Sandy) Fisher, bought their home in Richmond MA in 2009 and have been actively involved in the cultural community in the Berkshires for many years.  The Fishers moved their residence to Florida for several of the past few years, but are thrilled to be back in the Berkshires and able to commit their energies to the local community. She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba and has two grown children who continue to live in Canada. Her son is a successful orthodontist in private practice in Winnipeg and her daughter is an equally successful television and freelance journalist and fitness expert in Toronto.  She continues to take voice lessons and is an avid golfer.

Velez was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, but grew up in Mexico City.  She graduated from Berkshire Community College in 2004, and from Mount Holyoke in 2007 with a B.A. in American and Latin American Studies.  She is currently working for her Masters in Higher Education at MCLA while working at Berkshire Community College as an Admissions Counselor and the Coordinator of the Multicultural Center. Her first visit to the Berkshires was at age 11 as a camper at the Becket Chimney Corners YMCA.  For 13 years Eleanore would visit the Berkshires as summer camper, summer counselor, international staff coordinator, group leader to Israel and the Sioux Indian Reservation and lastly as the International Youth Travel Programs Coordinator. In between her time at Chimney Corners, Eleanore spent three years working for the YMCA in New York City.  She was also the third recipient of Berkshire Immigrant Center’s Jane Addams Spirit Award. Past winners include Mayor James Ruberto and co-winners Representative Tricia Farley-Bouvier and former Congressional Aide to John W. Olver, Richard Delmasto.
