JENSEN BEACH, Fla. -- Mary Lee Sunday struck out four and allowed one earned run for the Berkshire Force 14-and-under team in a 4-2 win over North Buncombe at the Babe Ruth World Series.
Taea Bramer and Jordyn Lummus each went 1-for-3 and scored a run, and Payton O'Connell and Sarah McMahon each drove in a run for the Force.
Berkshire (4-0) moved on the to the World Series semi-finals, where it will meet the TCAA Wildcats on Monday morning.
16-and-under
JENSEN BEACH, Fla. -- Ashley Keegan won a pair of games for the Berkshire Force 16-and-under team at the Babe Ruth World Series on Sunday.
In Sunday's first game, Keegan went 2-for-3 with three RBIs at the plate and struck out eight in the circle to lead the team to a 6-2 win over WVAC-Debary.
Keegan walked none and allowed no earned runs in the win.
Haley Tobin went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, and Britney Perkett scored three times for the Force, which improved to 2-2 at the World Series.
Later Sunday, Keegan pitched a complete game one-hitter to blank the Denver Eclipse, 8-0.
Struck out six and surrendered just one walk in that victory.
Tobin led the way at the plate with a 3-for-4 game that included a double. Giuliana Pierce also doubled and went 2-for-2 with a run scored. Kailey Bell went 2-for-3, scored twice and drove in a run.
The Force plays Monday evening against either host Jensen Beach or Barren County in the final of the World Series bracket.
