FRI-SUN Made In The Berkshires Festival
|
The 6th annual Made in the Berkshires festival will feature cutting-edge theatrical works performed as staged readings, live music, film, short stories, visual art and dance at Berkshire Theatre Group's Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield and Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge.
The festival kicks off on Friday at The Colonial with A Night with Karen, honoring actress, director and businesswoman Karen Allen, and featuring cocktails, dinner, performances inspired by Karen, and a dance party.
Enjoy an evening of dance performances at The Colonial on Saturday evening beginning at 7:30 p.m., and short film presentations on Sunday beginning at 12 p.m., followed by a Meet the Filmmakers Wrap Party at Hotel on North at 6 p.m.
View the exhibit CROP | New Works from the Berkshires in Colonial any time the theatre is open, and join the curators and artists for an opening reception & panel discussion on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The Office of Cultural Development announces a call to artists for a Holiday Wreath Art Auction on Dec. 2 at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts. The wreaths will be on display in conjunction with First Fridays Artswalk during a ticketed event with a preview from 5-6:30 p.m. The live auction begins at 6:30 p.m. and all proceeds will benefit Pittsfield Food Pantries.
Register by emailing your name and phone number to cultural@pittsfieldch.com by Friday, Nov. 18. There is a $10 entry fee. The Office of Cultural Development will supply the wreath to decorate. Wreath pick-up will be Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25 and 26 from 9-11 a.m. at the Lichtenstein. Finished wreaths must be returned by Thursday, Dec. 1 at 12 Noon.

In conjunction with the Berkshire Art Association's biennial juried show, Othering, WordXWord has assembled a diverse group of poets and storytellers to share work reflecting on experiences of exclusion, marginalization, and separation. Lichtenstein Center for the Arts at 3 p.m. FREE.

It's not too late! Herman Melville's Arrowhead is open weekends (Saturday, Sunday & Monday) through Nov. 21. Tours are available on the hour, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The grounds are open from dawn until dusk. Arrowhead is the headquarters of the Berkshire County Historical Society, and is located at 780 Holmes Road.
Guided tours of Hancock Shaker Village are offered daily at 11 a.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays at both 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., until Nov. 23. The 90-minute walking tour will highlight the Village's most significant buildings and explore the Shaker themes of community, farming, innovation and technology.
