Bo Bramer scored 10 points to lead the Boys & Girls Club Blue team to a 41-38 win over Greylock in seventh- and eighth-grade boys travel basketball league play over the weekend.
"We started off slow, getting outscored, 8-1, at the end of the first quarter, but our kids really worked hard and battled the entire game," Greylock coach Rick Paris said. "Again, we had an opportunity to tie the game in the last seconds with an open look from behind the [3-point] line, but it hit off the rim. We were very proud of how the kids battled on both sides of the court."
Derek Paris scored 13, and Malcolm Waynick added eight for Greylock.
Greylock finished a weekend double-header with a 61-17 loss to the Boys & Girls Club Black Team.
"We were just outhustled and outplayed in every phase of the game," Paris said. "They were just bigger, faster and stronger than us. Even in such a a defeat, our kids never gave up competiting 'til the last second."
