Enjoy a dozen different art shows featuring work by over 20 accomplished regional artists in Pittsfield's bustling Upstreet Cultural District during theFirst Friday Artswalk and all month long! In most venues, artists will be present from 5-8 p.m. A free guided tour begins at 5 p.m. at 
the Intermodal Center @ BRTA, 1 Columbus Ave.

The Berkshire Art Association Fellowship Show is at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts.  
 
The 10x10 Chairity Auction at Dottie's will conclude with a closing reception from 5-8 p.m.

The BOOM Room will be open from 5-8 p.m. and will feature live jazz from The Banulis, Miller & DeAngleo Trio.
 
After their opening reception for I Am Woman, The Whitney will host an Artswalk after-party featuring an open mic poetry reading.
 
 
 
MUSIC & NIGHTLIFE
The 2nd Annual "Care for Cancer" Betty Jean Bennett Fundraiser, which will benefit Moments House, will be held at Itam Lodge beginning at 1 p.m. From 1-7 p.m., enjoy live bluegrass music, and from 7-10 p.m. dance to live country music. Bands include Zinc & Company, Zolla Boys, Country Line, Cedar Ridge and more. Enter the raffle! Food and drink available for purchase.

As part of the 10x10 Upstreet Arts Festival, Barrington Stage Company again presents its 10x10 New Play Festival at the St. Germaine stage, located at 36 Linden St. Until March 5, enjoy ten 10-minute comedies and dramas starring six professional actors. Thursday, Friday & Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m., as well as matinees on Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m.

Shire City Sanctuary will hold its March cooking class with Mariana Bergtold,a chef who studied at the Cordon Bleu and who used to run the Dancing Vegan restaurant in Pittsfield. Learn to make Pot Pie Tempeh. Everyone will leave with two pot pies to take home! 3-5:30 p.m. $15 for adults, $8 for children under 16.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE PARKING METER PLAN
Five things to remember about the new downtown parking system:
 
1. Always enter your license plate number - even for the FREE first 30 minutes.
 
2. On-street parking is $1 per hour; lot parking is 50 cents per hour. There are also nearly 400 free parking spaces on the city's side streets.
 
3. You can pay by coin, credit card, or by downloading the Passport parking app.
 
4. You do not need to display the parking receipt on your dashboard.
 
5. Parking is FREE on evenings and weekends!

Pittsfield's city-owned community arts center, the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, features nine working artist studios, a ceramics studio, a community room and an art gallery with changing exhibitions, classes, performances + more!

The Berkshire Art Association (BAA) College Fellowship Show features the work of Berkshire County residents enrolled as art majors at any college in the country, as well as non-residents currently majoring in art at a Berkshire County college. Prizes will be awarded to students whose work is selected. The mission of the BAA is to connect artists and the community in order to inspire creativity and increase access to the visual arts. An opening reception will be held during Artswalk on Friday, March 3 from 5-8 p.m.
