Company officials joined members of the Lenox Chamber of Commerce, and town officials in cutting the ribbon on the new space.

The company becomes the first tenant in the Berkshire Design Center.
LENOX, Mass. — Connecticut Business Systems, a Xerox company, cut the ribbon on new office space on Pittsfield Road as it looks to grow its Berkshire operations.

The company is becoming the first tenant in Allegrone's Berkshire Design Center, a multi-office building featuring 16 suites for lease. CBS had previous operated out of a small office space in Pittsfield and will now expand it's local service through the new location.

"We see Lenox as a growing community in the Berkshires and we really want to put a focus on the Berkshires, growing our resources within the company giving them more options, more technology, and whatever the community is looking for," said Director of Massachusetts Sales Joe Cunningham.

The company held a ribbon cutting on the space Tuesday morning. It will be the "hub" of operations as the Wethersfield, Conn.- based company looks to grow its footprint in the community.

"This is a hub, or satellite office, to our Springfield location. This is really dedicated to the Berkshire market. CBS provides officer technology, services, and support. We work with local businesses, small, medium, large, to include education K through 12 to health care to hospitals to manufacturing, you name it. We help them with their office technology and the service and support around that technology," said President Jay Cartisano.

CBS's parent company is Xerox and it specializes in selling, maintaining, and even consulting on the entire line of products. The range goes from large output copiers down to desktop printers and software.

"The majority of our business is we will go into an existing business and do a full assessment. We'll walk through, we will map out all of your technology on your floor plan, we will provide a detailed report back to you. We'll show what your usage is. We will show what your expense is. And we will sit with you and make suggestions. We'll co-author what a solution would look like in the future. It is all designed to improve your productivity and save you money," Cartisano said.

CBS provides everything from the products, to installing all of the equipment, to repairs. The local office currently has four dedicate employees, which is supplemented from help from Connecticut and Springfield, but the plan is to add more.

"We think this is a growing market and we want to grow within it," Cunningham said.

The company is Allegrone's first tenant in the newly renovated 30,000 square-foot building, first built as the Edgewood motel in 1959. The building provides co-working space for multiple companies, featuring office spaces built to request, as well as shared conference and event spaces.

"We just think this building is state of the art and in such a great location, such a central location in the Berkshires, that we actually pursued Allegrone," Cunningham said.
