The first 3rd Thursday of 2017, "Youth," will showcase the talented young people of the Berkshires! Lead sponsor, General Dynamics Mission Systems, will set up an interactive booth encouraging children of all ages to consider STEM careers.
Join your neighbors downtown from 5-8 p.m. for an evening of performances by Rock On!, Pittsfield City Hoopla, Breffany Irish Step Dancers, Youth Alive, Cantarella School of Dance, Taconic and Wahconah high schools, Berkshire Theatre Group's "Danny Dollar," Funk Box Studio, and Berkshire Pulse & more!
Jacob's Pillow will host a pop-up performance with Ephrat Asherie Dance. Artistic director Ephrat "Bounce" Asherie, a New York City-based bgirl, dancer and choreographer, is a 2016 Bessie Award winner for innovative achievement in dance.
St. Joseph's lawn will be turned into the Downtown Pittsfield Inc. Fun Zone with a bounce house, cotton candy, a toy gift basket giveaway and more.

Mother's Day events in Pittsfield include a brunch buffet at Mazzeo's from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and one at Mission from 12-4 p.m. From 10 a.m. - Noon, enjoy brunch at Dottie's with live music from Duo Eamon. Temple Anshe presents brunch and a talk by Joselin Linder, author of The Family Gene, at 10 a.m. At Hancock Shaker Village, the new Seeds Cafe will offer a family-style lunch and its new shop will have complimentary gifts for all mothers.

Shire City Sanctuary teams up with Jacob's Pillow Dance for a one-night-only event. Begin the evening at 7 p.m. with dance lessons from Artistic Director Eduardo Vilaro and the stars of Ballet Hispánico. Then, dance the night away to live music by Los Hacheros, Brooklyn's modern-day torchbearers of the golden age of Latin music, from 8-10 p.m. $10. Cash bar.

The fourth annual Encore! An Evening to Celebrate High School Musicals features 10-minute encore performances from this year's Berkshire County high school musicals. More than 100 students from Hoosac Valley, Lenox, Taconic, Miss Hall's, Mt. Everett, Mt. Greylock, PHS, Drury, Wahconah will perform. Ticket proceeds benefit BTG PLAYS!, Berkshire Theatre Group's year-round education program. 7 p.m. Adults: $15, Children 16 & under: $12.

The 40th Annual Women's Running Race is FREE this year to celebrate this milestone! It will feature the same race distances as last year. The 5K begins at 9 a.m. and the 1 mile race begins at 10 a.m.

Support The Alzheimer's Association at Home Instead Senior Care while painting a glass vase featuring 3 dragonflies, cat-tails and anything else you'd like to add! Your $35 fee includes 2 hours of painting instruction, all supplies needed, and a donation to The Alzheimer's Association. 6-8 p.m.

Grab your team and check in with Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. (located at 33 Dunham Mall) at 1:30 p.m. for the annual Downtown Spring Cleanup Day. They'll provide the garbage bags, but please try to round up your own rakes, brooms, gloves and any other supplies you think you'll need to help Pittsfield look its best! 1:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Berkshire Museum presents Learner's Lab: Seed Bombs on Saturday at 11 a.m. Learn how to become a guerrilla gardener with Chloë Geffken of Hancock Shaker Village. Museum programs are included with regular admission ($13 adult, $6 child; children 3 and under and Museum Members free.)

INFORMATION ABOUT THE PARKING METER PLAN

1. Always enter your license plate number - even for the FREE first 30 minutes.
2. On-street parking is $1 per hour; lot parking is 50 cents per hour. There are also nearly 400 free parking spaces on the city's side streets.
3. You can pay by coin, credit card, or by downloading the Passport parking app.
4. You do not need to display the parking receipt on your dashboard.
5. Parking is FREE on evenings and weekends!
