PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The 25th annual Berkshire County Law Enforcement Golf Tournament (BCLEGT) to benefit victims of child abuse will be held on Thursday, June 2.

Local law enforcement, prosecutors and members of the community will tee it up at Berkshire Hills Country Club to support the programs and services provided by Berkshire County Kids' Place, a children's advocacy center that provides services to approximately 400 child victims and their non-offending family each year at no cost.

This event began a quarter century ago as one of the first fundraising efforts to support Berkshire County Kids' Place, even contributing to a down payment on the building that currently acts at their main facility at 63 Wendell Ave. in Pittsfield. At this time Kids' Place also has a satellite location in North Adams on Union Street and utilizes space in Berkshire South in Great Barrington to enable easier access to services for victims in north and south county.

The tournament was started by tournament chair Steven Del Negro, who at the time was a part of the Massachusetts State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Del Negro recruited other local law enforcement including MSP Trooper Chris Ware, who currently serves as chairperson of the tournament committee. This group given their respective positions knew that a children's advocacy center was necessary so that it was possible to have a well-developed and cooperative team approach to aid child abuse victims, and to be able to provide the counseling needed for the child to get on the path to healing.

Diamond Level Sponsors for this year's event include Pittsfield Co-operative Bank, iBerkshires.com, Girardi Distributors, Graphic Impact Signs, Haddad Motors and Boston Bruins Head Trainer Don Del Negro.  Platinum Sponsors are Hot Dog Ranch and Berkshire Yardbirds.
