WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. Ronald Laverdiere carded a 2-over-par 73 Wednesday to lead a field of 26 players in the Massachusetts Amateur Open qualifier at Waubeeka Golf Links.

 

Laverdiere of Hickory Ridge Golf Club led four players who qualified for the state am from the event.

 

Cameron Sheedy of Vesper Country Club, Andy Drohen of the Ranch Golf Club and Jesse Morgan of Amherst Golf Club each finished at 3-over 74 to tie for second and punch their ticket fr the Massachusetts Amateur.

 

Three players, Aaron Corn, Connor Phillips and Mark Millay, were named alternates to the state am after finishing at 75.

 

The event drew two Berkshire County competitors.

 

Berkshire Hills Country Club’s Kevin Quinto finished at 8-over 79. Wahconah Country Club’s Paul Briggs was just behind him at 10-over 81.
