HINSDALE, Mass. — Camp Ashmere in Hinsdale is opening for its 102nd season and has hired  Donald Padrick of New Lebanon, N.Y., to be the camp director this year.

Padrick comes with a wealth of camping experience and working with youth. He will be teamed up with Terri Braman, who will be the day camp director once again this year.

The camp is owned and operated by the First Baptist Church in North Adams and is offering five weeks of Day Camp sessions for children entering grades one through six, beginning July 10 and running through Aug. 11. The Day Camp program has bus transportation from North Adams, through Adams, Pittsfield and Dalton to the camp daily. Day campers receive a healthy lunch and a daily snack while at camp. Parents in the local area may decide to drop off/pick up their campers as well.

For those interested in an overnight residential camp, children entering grades eight through 12 can attend Senior Camp the weeks of July 9 and 16, while those entering grades four through seven can attend Junior Camp the weeks of July 23 or 30. All session have a focus on sports, swimming, boating, crafts, Bible study, challenge course activities, campfires, and more.

More information about the camp may be found on its web site www.campashmere.org or by calling Don Padrick at the camp at 413-655-2650.
