BARRINGTON, N.H. -- Sophia-Marie Groves threw a no-hitter Thursday to lead the Berkshire Force 14-and-under softball team to a 6-0 win over Winchester, N.H., at the Babe Ruth Softball New England Regional.

 

A sacrifice bunt by Jordyn Lummus gave the Force an early 1-0 lead.

 

Berkshire scored three more runs runs in the third inning. Addison Lyon and Lexi Sondrini singled, and Kirsten Carrigan doubled in the rally.

 

Groves went seven innings, striking out three and walking one.

 

The Force had 12 hits in the game. Carrigan, Lummus, and Lyon each collected multiple hits. Carrigan led the way, going 3-for-3, and Lummus stole three bases.
