The new free app works on Greylock members' smartphones alerting them to a variety of perks, benefits and discounts available at a range of merchants around Berkshire County.

ChaChing: Greylock Federal Credit Union has introduiced its new ChaChing app. The new free app works on Greylock members' smartphones alerting them to a variety of perks, benefits and discounts available at a range of merchants around Berkshire County. Using the GPS on member's phones, ChaChing sends mobile alerts offering instant discounts whenever they are near participating merchants.

Here's an example of how ChaChing works: If a Greylock Member with the app on their phone walks by a participating coffee shop, they might get a pop up notice on their phone saying they can save on their next coffee. Or, if they are near a participating restaurant, they may get a pop up message offering a free dessert with a dinner purchase. There are all kinds of ways Greylock members can save with ChaChing. They simply present the offer on their phone and pay with their Greylock credit or debit card to get the deal. It's like having a personal shopper looking out for the best deals everywhere Greylock members go without having to keep track of paper coupons.

It's easy to get the new app if you are a Greylock Member. Simply download ChaChing from either the Apple App Store for your iPhone or the Google Play Store for Android devices. To learn more about ChaChing, or how to become a Greylock Member, go online or call 413-236-4000.

Career move: Berkshire Community College's Career Development Center has launched a new career management software with College Central Network. BCC students past, present, and future now have access to the latest resources and job opportunities at the regional and national level.  Additionally, this tool will enhance communication among various departments within the College that routinely collaborate with employers in the community.

The new website offers exclusive job postings targeting our talented BCC student and alumni population as well as access to hundreds of career articles, podcasts and career advice documents. Students and any community members can upload or build a resume on the site as well as register for career related events around the area and receive alerts for their ideal job.

BCC has recently sent out registration notifications to local employers, inviting them to create an account.  Once confirmed, they may begin uploading job opportunities that they would like to post. BCC's job search site is meant to assist local employers and the community in making it easier to post and find jobs. It also helps ensure there's a smooth transition for BCC students to find local employment with support from the software and the college's Career Development Center team.

Kicking in: Berkshire Money Management is helping to kick off the Dalton CRA youth soccer program this year with a $5,000 sponsorship. BMM is also the underwriter for this year's 21st annual Just for Kicks Soccer Tournament to be held on Oct. 7-8 at Wahconah High School and Nessacus Middle school.

In addition to the youth soccer sponsorship, the firm has deeded 1.36 acres -- from its new headquarters at the Crane Model Farm – to the town. The parcel of land abuts the Craneville Elementary School and is used daily by young students for sports and recreation.

BMM is looking at a potential mid-October move-in date from their current Pittsfield headquarters on Merrill Road. Prior to that date, Allen and the BMM team have already put into motion an active mission to support the arts and community-wide projects in their new Dalton home.
