Dalton preschoolers stand near their 'Dinosaur Lengths Project' at the Dalton CRA.

DALTON, Mass. — Dalton Preschool is installing a "Dinosaur Lengths Project" as part of their current curriculum, "Exploring Dinosaurs."

The installation will be on view on the side-lawn of the Dalton CRA, 400 Main St., through Sunday, Oct. 22. The project was made possible with support from Hill Engineers, Architects & Planners.

The Dinosaurs Lengths Project installation contains basic information cards and length measurements for five different dinosaurs, including: Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops, Apatosaurus (a k a Brontosaurus), Lambeosaurus and Velociraptor. The dinosaurs will be visually represented by different colored survey tapes strung in-between wooden stakes and a basic information card displayed for each.

The Dalton Preschool students were actively engaged in the project along side their teachers in measuring dinosaur lengths, hammering in stakes, and stringing tapes to create the installation.

With the exception of Velociraptor, whose fossil remains were found in Mongolia, China, the fossils remains of the other four dinosaurs contained in the project have been found solely in the United States and North America.

The Dalton Preschool is a mixed-aged program serving children between the ages of 2 years, 9 months, to 5 years old/ kindergarten eligible. For more information visit the website.
