Adams Youth Basketball Wins Boys & Girls Club Tourney

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Adams seventh- and eight-grade boys basketball travel team won the Pittsfield Boys & Girls Club Tournament with three hard fought victories
 
Adams defeated Housatonic in the championship game by a score of, 51-50.
 
Adams opened the tournament with a 48-46 win over North Adams. In the victory, Kobe Valois led the way with 18 points and Carson Meczywor had 16. Ben Moulton paced North Adams with 13.
 
In the most exciting game of the Tournament, Meczywor hit a 3-point shot at the buzzer as Adams defeated the host team Pittsfield Boys & Girls Club Black by a score of 51-48. Meczywor paced Adams with 19 points and Valois had 15.
 
Logan Davis led the charge in the championship game with a team-high 16 points. Davis provided a spark with his energy the entire game. Meczywor chipped in with 15.
 
Adams will next be in action in the Dalton Tournament in early January.
 
Housatonic 51, Greylock 49
Housatonic reached the tournament final with narrow win over Greylock as Connor Hanavan scored 13 points to lead the way.
 
Eddie Boyco scored 11, and James Carr added 10 for Housatonic.
 
"This game went back and forth all game," Greylock coach Rick Paris said. "We had a two-point lead at half-time, but unfortunately we missed a good handful of layups and putbacks. We also struggled to inbound the ball a few tines resulting in four or five turnovers."
 
Derek Paris scored 14 points with nine steals to lead Greylock, which got 10 points and nine rebounds from Thomas Martin. Dylen Harrison and Chase Doyle scored nine and seven, respectively.
 
Greylock 42, Boys & Girls Club Blue 25
Derek Paris had a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Chase Doyle scored nine, and Thomas Martin had eight points and 11 rebounds in the win.
 
Boys & Girls Club Blue got eight points from Kevon Wilson and six from Jared Jansen.
