FEBRUARY 2 is First Fridays Artswalk & More!

Enjoy almost a dozen different art shows featuring work by more than a dozen accomplished regional artists in Pittsfield's bustling Upstreet Cultural District during the First Fridays Artswalk and all month long! 
In most venues, artists will be present from 5-8 p.m. A free guided tour begins at 5 p.m. at the Intermodal Center @ BRTA, 1 Columbus Ave. Mary McGinnis, co-founder of First Fridays Artswalk, will bring you through the various exhibits!
The Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, located at 28 Renne Ave., will hold a soft opening for its February exhibit from 5-8 p.m. IS183 Art School's Learning Through Arts (LTA) after-school program will showcase the artwork of every one of its students, who attend nine elementary, middle and high schools across the Berkshires.
From 7-8:30 p.m., Berkshire Music School at 30 Wendell Ave. will host original jazz by Sarah Kohrs and Mark Tuomenaksa. Beer and wine available for purchase. $20 admission; reservations required.
Artists from Berkshire County and beyond are invited to submit original 2- and
3-dimensional artwork for the group exhibit Forty Shades of Green: Celebrating Ireland & Irish Culture to be held during the month of March at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts. The exhibit is co-sponsored by the City of Pittsfield's Office of Cultural Development and the Pittsfield Irish Sister City Committee. Both contemporary and traditional artwork on the theme are encouraged, including photography, painting, sculpture and craft. To submit your work, email a digital
version to by Feb. 15. Those selected will be notified by Feb. 20. One piece may be submitted by each individual.  Call 413-499-9348 for more information. 


The Colonial Theatre's $5 Comedy Garage presents comedian and writer Richie Redding, who has toured all over the world and was hand-picked by comedian Katt Williams to be the host of the Growth Spurt Tour and the HBO special Priceless, and a featured act on his 2015 and 2016 tours. Adel Alizadeh opens. 7:30 p.m.
