PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Khalil Carlson Monday pitched the Great Barrington 10- to 12-year-old Little League All-Stars to a 3-1 win over the Pittsfield National League to stay alive in the Don Gleason District 1 Tournament.
Great Barrington advanced in the losers' bracket of the double elimination tournament, where on Wednesday it will face either the Pittsfield American League or Dalton/Hinsdale all-stars.
Carlson struck out six and allowed just three hits in four innings of work. Kyle Wellencamp struck out four of six to earn the two-inning save.
Garrett Curtin had two hits, drove in a pair of runs and scored the winning run for Great Barrington.
Asher Demary had two hits and scored a run for the Nats, who got strong pitching from Dontae Stanton and Ethan Breitmaier, who combined to strike out 11.
The Americans and Dalton will play on Tuesday at 5:30 at Deming Park in the winners' bracket with the victor advancing to Thursday's championship round. The loser of Tuesday's game will face Great Barrington in an elimination game.
