PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Mayor Linda Tyer and former City Councilor Barry Clairmont have tied the knot.
The couple was wed Sunday in the presence of close friends and family. The mayor posted on Facebook Tuesday a photo of the two with a brief caption.
"This past Sunday, surrounded by the love of our dearest family and friends, my sweetheart and I were married. For our two day Berkshire honeymoon Barry and I spent time in Lenox, Pittsfield, North Adams, and Williamstown. It has been magical filled with happy memories that we will cherish forever," Tyer wrote.
Tyer is in her second of four years as mayor after previously serving as a ward councilor and later as city clerk. She was elected as mayor in late 2015 and took over the office in January of 2016. Clairmont was elected a ward councilor in 2011 and served two terms, from 2012 until 2016. He later opted not to run for re-election in 2015. He has since been appointed to sit on the Pittsfield Economic Development Authority board and still runs the accounting firm Lombardi Clairmont & Keegan.
