SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Pittsfield High School graduate Chad Shade Friday ran for 247 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Springfield College football team to a 42-21 win over Western New England.

 

After WNE took an early lead, Shade scored from 5 yards out to tie the game midway through the first quarter.

 

He added two more TDs before half-time to make it 21-7.

 

Late in the third quarter, Shade broke off a 75-yard run for the longest play of the game.

 

Pittsfield's Jonny Bianchi, a graduate of Cushing Academy, recorded four tackles and broke up three passes for the Pride.

 

Springfield travels to New Jersey to face Kean College next Saturday.
