Holiday Events

Thursday, Dec. 12

Pittsfield: Berkshire Historical Society will present Holiday Lights at Arrowhead at 6:30 p.m., featuring a candlelight tour of the house and a 19th century holiday experience complete with winter pasttimes, refreshments and readings. Admission is $25. Call 413-442-1793.

Saturday, Dec. 21

Lenox: Two of the Berkshires favorite performers, Samantha Talora and Ron Ramsay, are filling The Mount with holiday cheer. Talora and Ramsay will be performing holiday favorites throughout the afternoon starting at 2 p.m. Included with admission.

Sunday, Dec. 22

North Adams: Mayor Thomas Bernard invites all members of the North Adams community to mark the first night of Chanukah and to join in the city’s second annual menorah lighting at 5 p.m. The brief ceremony will be held in Dr. Arthur Rosenthal Square on West Main Street across from City Hall. Rabbi Rachel Barenblat  will share a few words.

 

Christmas Tree Lightings

* Lenox Dale: Sunday, Dec. 8, 6 p.m. Due to the construction on Walker Street, Santa will arrive by fire engine at Furnace Park at the intersection of Crystal Street and Walker Street to light the tree. Following the lighting, Santa will greet the children at the Fire Station on Elm Street, where gifts and refreshments will be distributed. Santa will also pose for photos with the children. The event is sponsored by the Lenox Dale Fire Company.

* North Adams: FRIDAY, DEC. 6 (postponed from Wednesday, Nov. 27) 6 p.m. at Monument Square. Caroling with the Drury Band, hot chocolate and the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Claus will arrive on the Fire Department's antique Mack Fire Engine with treats. Kicks off the annual Hometown Holiday. This year the Downtown Bike Around will join the procession down Main Street with bikes decorated in lights; meet at Peebles/V&V lot at 5:15 p.m. (Raindate Dec. 6.)

* Pittsfield: Friday, Dec. 6, 6 p.m. The annual tree lighting will be held at Park Square with music, hot chocolate and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. The Downtown Festive Frolic begins at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, until 8 p.m. and again on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 to 3 at participating venues. The community is invited to come downtown and enjoy free and low-cost family-friendly activities in honor of the holiday season.

* Williamstown: Saturday, Dec. 7, 5:15 p.m. Caroling and the tree lighting on the Williams Inn front lawn at the foot of Spring Street.
