The Four Freedoms Coalition's 3rd annual gathering, Celebrating Freedom: Democracy in Action, will take place on Sunday, Jan. 27 from 1-3 p.m. at Berkshire Community College. Free and open to all, the event will feature speakers Congressman Richard NealMacArthur "Genius" Award winner Deborah Meier and District Attorney Andrea Harrington, along with music, action items from a variety of partners, and a collaborative art project that everyone is invited to take part in.
 
MUSIC & NIGHTLIFE
Berkshire Salsa, located at 307 North Street, presents a fun night of Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Kizomba, Cha-Cha and Reggaeton! Únete a la familia Berkshire Salsa para una divertida noche llena de baile! The evening begins at 9 p.m. with a Salsa lesson by Alan Franco. Dancing runs from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. Admission: $10, Students (21+) $8. Cash bar.

The Jewish Federation's Connecting with Community series presents a talk by Chris Andersen, who lived in Turkey as a young teen. It was 1954 and Turkish Kurdistan was neither the territory nor the culture that was embraced by Turkish nationals. Chris found a way to discover this rich and hidden culture of the Kurds and experienced self-discovery.

Libby Lamm (Tika Sumpter) is a former top national security adviser who, while working with a ruthless political veteran (Jamie Lee Curtis), signed off on a controversial military action that was supposed to end the war on terror. The problem: thousands died under false pretenses. What's Showing at The Licht
Pittsfield's city-owned community arts center, the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts, features nine working artist studios, a ceramics studio, a community room and an art gallery with changing exhibitions, classes, performances and more!   

An exhibit featuring the Westside Riverway Park and all of its potential. Architects Tessa Kelly and Chris Parkinson will lead this exhibit with design examples of the future park and a chance for you to weigh in on what you'd like to see happen there. Open through Friday, Jan. 25.
