ROCHESTER, N.H. -- Tyler Gaudette tripled in two runs in a six-run top of the seventh as the Pittsfield Babe Ruth 14-year-old All-Stars came from behind to earn a 9-5 win over Plymouth on Friday to open the New England Regional.
Pittsfield went to its last at-bat trailing 5-3.
Chase Doyle and Matt Lee got the rally started with back-to-back doubles that got Pittsfield within one run.
Lee then tied the score when Will Kinne reached on an error attempting to bunt him to third.
Nick Guachione singled, and Chase Racine walked ahead of Collin Merwin's sacrifice fly to score Racine and give Pittsfield a 6-5 lead.
Gaudette tripled to center to score a couple of insurance runs and came home on a sac bunt by Adam Lazits.
Guachione went 3-for-4 at the plate, and Gaudette was 2-for-3 with the triple.
Lee and Lazits combined on the mound to strike out seven and allow no earned runs.
Pittsfield (1-0) continues pool play on Saturday at noon against Nashua, N.H.

STAMFORD, Conn. -- The Pittsfield Babe Ruth 13-year-old All-Stars went 11 innings Friday to beat Eastern Mass State Champion Plymouth in their regional opener.
Pittsfield (1-0) Saturday plays Keene, N.H., at 3 p.m.
