Berkshire County schools are scheduling and re-scheduling preschool and kindergarten registration dates and procedures for the 2020-21 school year. Schools can send their information to email@example.com to be included on this list.
All students, regardless of race, religion, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or homelessness, have equal access to the general education program and the full range of any occupational, vocational programs offered by public school districts.
Clarksburg parents can now begin to register their youngsters for kindergarten. Children must be 5 years old as of Aug. 31. Call the school office at 413-663-8735 as soon as possible if your child is eligible.
A kindergarten orientation and screening for students and parents will be held on Monday, June 1.
According to the “Child-Find” Legislation, any parent that has a child who is 3 to 5 years old and has any questions concerning special needs may call the director of special education, Debra Rosselli, at 413-664-4655.
The Gabriel Abbott Memorial School has begun the process of registering students for the 2020-2021 kindergarten and pre-kindergarten classes.
Students need to be legal residents of the school district and reside with parents or guardians within the school district at the time of the opening day of school. Parents will need to provide a copy of the student's birth certificate, updated immunization form and proof of residence.
Students must be 5 years of age or older on Aug. 31 to register for kindergarten. Students must be 3 years or older to register for pre-kindergarten. Contact the school by email
Hancock Elementary School is accepting applications for preschool for the 2020-21 school year. Children who are 3 years old as of Sept. 1 are eligible to attend the preschool program based on a lottery system with preference given to Hancock residents and currently enrolled students. Parents should call the school office at 413-738-5676 or email Jay Merselis, principal, as soon as possible if interested or to learn more.
Parents who suspect their child may have special needs and is 3 years old or older should call the Special Education Director Jenevra A. Strock at 413-698-4001 to schedule an evaluation.
Kindergarten registration is also open. Children must be 5 years old as of Sept. 1 to enter kindergarten. Parents should call the school office at 413-738-5676 or email Jay Merselis, principal, as soon as possible if interested or to learn more. Screening and registration requires parents to bring their child and his/her birth certificate along with proof of residency to the school.
NEW: Hoosac Valley
Pre-kindergarten and kindergarten registration is currently open for the 2020-21 school year for the Hoosac Valley Regional School District. Information is posted on the district website. Families can register with paper-based packets or online using the link provided on the website.
Also, for your convenience, packets and a drop box are available at the meals site at Hoosac Valley Elementary School at 14 Commercial Street in Adams on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 11 a.m.
Preschool screenings are being offered at Lanesborough Elementary School, 188 Summer St., on Monday, March 2, and Wednesday, March 4, between 9 to 11:30 and noon to 2 p.m. Screenings are open to all children who live in Lanesborough and will be 3 or 4 by Aug. 31. Screenings will be administered by certified teachers and speech and language pathologist. There is no charge for the screenings. Call Ashley at 413-443-0027, ext. 100, to make an appointment.
Kindergarten registration will be held March 24-26 at Lanesborough Elementary School. Parents of children who reside in Lanesborough that will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 should stop by the office at the elementary school between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. or 1 and 4 p.m. on March 24-26 to complete registration forms. Parents will meet briefly with Mrs. Vadnais in the main office and nurse Kathy Larson in the health office.
Parents should bring a driver's license or valid photo ID, proof of residency (lease agreement, purchase & sale, proof of mortgage, etc.) and a utility bill or work order dated within the past 60 days as well as a copy of their child's birth certificate; a copy of the most recent physical with vision test; and a copy of their child’s immunization records to date. Parent(s)/guardian(s) may be asked to submit additional information to establish proof of residency. For more information, call 413-443-0027 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
North Adams will hold its pre-kindergarten applications and screenings on March 16 and 17 at Brayton Elementary School, March 18 and 19 at Colgrove Park Elementary School and March 23 and 24 at Greylock Elementary School Children must be 3 or 4 years old by Aug. 31, 2020. The North Adams Public Schools will be conducting kindergarten registration for fall 2020 classes on the following dates, at the following locations:
April 15: UNO Community Center, 157 River St. (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
April 15: Brayton Elementary School Welcome Center (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
April 16: Mohawk Forest Community Room, 201 Mohawk Forest Blvd (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
April 16: Brayton Elementary School Welcome Center (4 p.m. to 6 p.m.)
Parents can attend at any location that is convenient and do not need to bring their child at this time; screening will take place in May/June. Children must be 5 years old by Aug. 31 to be eligible. Current NAPS PreK Students do not need to register for kindergarten.
Parents should bring their child's birth certificate, most recent physical and immunization records (within 13 months), and proof of residency (including photo ID, a utility bill and mortgage statement or lease). Children who will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020, may be registered to enter kindergarten in the Pittsfield Public Schools in the fall. Parents and guardians should go to the website
and choose 2020-21 Online Registration Now Open from the District Home Page.
The following documentation will be needed to complete registration: child's birth certificate, a utility bill or a rental/lease agreement for proof of address, child's immunization records, a copy of the last doctor’s physical exam and parent/guardian photo ID.

Saint Stanislaus Kostka School
Saint Stanislaus Kostka School is currently accepting registrations for preschool and K-8 students. The school year calendar follows the Adams-Cheshire Regional School District calendar with the same holidays and vacations for students in grades K-8. Preschool classes are held from right after Labor Day through the first Friday in June.

Parents of children who live in Williamstown and will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020, should stop by between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 4 p.m. either day to complete registration forms. Parents will meet briefly with Mr. Phillips in the principal’s office and Mrs. Stein-Payne in the health office. The whole process will take about 20 minutes.
