Friday, March 6 is First Friday Artswalk and more!
Enjoy more than a dozen different art shows featuring work by more than two dozen accomplished regional and student artists in Pittsfield's bustling Upstreet Cultural District during the  First Friday Artswalk and all month long!
 
In most venues, artists will be present from 5-8 p.m. A free guided tour begins at 5 p.m. at the Intermodal Center @ BRTA, 1 Columbus Ave.

 
MUSIC & NIGHTLIFE

The Irish Comedy Tour features four joke-slinging entertainers in a fast-paced, high-energy show. The comedians include Irishman Derrick Keane and Derek Richards, Mike McCarthy and Damon Leibert, whose ancestors hail from the Emeral Isle. These hilarious comedians will tear apart, as well as validate, all of the Irish myths and stereotypes. Plus, they'll be joined by award-winning Irish step dancers Bridget Farrell, Ashley Gilnack and Dale Loughran. 7:30 p.m. $25.

FAMILY FRIENDLY

The City of Pittsfield Recreation Program has teamed up with the Boys & Girls Club and Autism Connections to provide a sensory-friendly ice skating opportunity. Skating will be closed to the general public during this time and there will be a quiet area designated for people to take a break, if needed. Admission is free. Skate rental is $5/pair. 5-6 p.m.

The 10x10 New Play Festival at Barrington Stage's St. Germain Stage features ten 10-minute plays by ten playwrights, all performed by an ensemble of six actors. Every 10 minutes, a new play begins! Join instructor Kalei Carlson at Berkshire Yoga Dance & Fitness for Prenatal Yoga on Thursdays at 5:15 p.m. These classes are designed specifically for pregnant women as a way to gently exercise while calming the mind and strengthening the body. Increase flexibility and help avoid common issues that may occur during and post pregnancy such as backache, postural imbalances, low energy levels and poor circulation.

The Berkshire Athenaeum's Cinema of Law series presents a screening of Suffragette (2015). Attorney Holly Rogers will introduce the film, which combines fictional and historical characters to dramatize the struggle for women's suffrage in Great Britain, centering on the lives of activists during the years 1912-1913. FREE.
