NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Shoppers have reported bare shelves at local Stop & Shops after a reported cybersecurity attack. The Boston Globe reported on Nov. 12 that Stop & Shop claims a cybersecurity issue is affecting its parent company, Ahold Delhaize. Company officials reported that there is limited inventory on certain products and they are restocking shelves as soon as item availability improves. The grocery chain's parent company Ahold Delhaize said its US outlet had to take some of their systems offline, disrupting its pharmacy and e-commerce business. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Community Preservation Committee announced that the project eligibility application process for a new year of CPA funding is open through December 6, 2024. The Committee also welcomes public participation to understand community priorities as it begins a new year of soliciting potential projects for funding. Eligibility project applications are due by 3 p.m. on December 6. The application process involves two steps: The first is a determination of whether a project is eligible for CPA funds under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 44B. PITTSFIELD, Mass.— The Berkshire Museum's Festival of Trees (FoT) annual holiday exhibition returns with a new theme – Festival of Trees: Aquatica. According to a press release, this year's topic is all about the sea, river, and wetland critters and ties into the museum's construction, redesign, and expansion of their aquarium. Now in its 40th year, FoT offers visitors a chance to enjoy a display of trees located on the 2nd floor of the museum, all decorated by local businesses, schools, museum staff, and tree sponsors. DALTON, Mass. — The Zoning Board of Appeals gave Lipton Properties the green light to reopen 630 Main St. as a gas station. The location has been an automotive repair shop, Miller's Service, for several decades until its owner, Darren Miller, sold it to Lipton Properties in February 2024 for $500,000. It had been a gas station dating back to the 1930s prior to that. Lipton Properties agreed to purchase the property provided the environment was in good condition, and the garage lifts and unused underground tanks were removed, said Michael Lipton, president of Lipton Inc. On Monday, the Federal Funds and Infrastructure Office held a community roadshow at the Berkshire Innovation Center. At the first of 12 statewide sessions, attendees were briefed on the office's effort to support communities in leveraging monies from the federal government.

 PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The William Stanley Business Park is transforming from grey to greener. Site 9 is nearly completed and funds have been secured to ready Sites 7 and 8 for development.
"Sixteen and a half acres of concrete have been cracked and crushed, the demarcation layer was put down, we brought all the fill from Site 7 over to Site 9 and we brought in over 100,000 cubic yards of clean fill and topsoil to put on there," Business Development Manager Michael Coakley told the Pittsfield Economic Development Authority on Thursday.

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield's public library, and Pittsfield's Community Development Department announced that the historic Pittsfield Parks Department Scrapbooks are now available for online viewing thanks to a grant from the Pittsfield Community Preservation Committee. Staff of the Parks Department maintained scrapbooks of news clippings, programs, and other documents relating to local sports teams, parades, Winter Carnival Queen contests, diaper derbies, Easter Egg hunts, local playground events, and a host of other city happenings. A ribbon is cut Friday at the unveiling of the tile murals, a project of PHS students. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Burbank Place is now adorned with almost 300 handprinted tiles.
On Friday, "Shapes of Togetherness" was unveiled on the side of 75 North St. Artist in residence Huck Elling guided Pittsfield High School students through creating the mural as part of the Pittsfield Let It Shine! Public Art Partnership.
"This project has meant so much to us," Elling said.

 DALTON, Mass. — Vandals have invaded the community forest that the Open Space and Recreation Committee has been trying to cultivate. Offensive images and words have been sprayed on rocks and tree trunks. Rejuvenating the Pines Trail, which starts behind the Senior Center, is the committee's first project since its establishment in March 2020. The committee was created following the update of the town's open space and recreation plan.
