 As the New Year gets underway, the fitness industry is breathing a sigh of relief. It has been a rough three years for those who provide the means to a healthy body for millions of Americans, but times are changing for the better. During the pandemic, one in four health and fitness facilities across the nation closed permanently. DALTON, Mass. — The Central Berkshire Regional School District is working on improving the general public's accessibility to the Diversity Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Steering Committee's resources for the. It plans to improve the website, increase its social media presence, and link scholarly articles and videos to the agenda and on the homepage. It will continue to develop the theme of belonging that it has been working on for a couple years now. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Berkshire Community College (BCC) presents "Plein Air Impressionism," an exhibition of oil paintings by artist Gary Lecuyer, on view in Koussevitzky Gallery through Feb. 28, 2022.  PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Pittsfield Community Television has received funding from the Pittsfield Commission on Disabilities to add closed captions to many local programs broadcast on PCTV's channels. The service will allow hearing-impaired viewers to follow along with the content of the programming by reading text on the screen. On Jan. 12, the commission voted to allocate $1,850 to help the organization provide closed captioning for all city meetings for the year. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Department of Public Works has been under fire the last few weeks by residents on social media expressing their frustrations on recent snowplowing efforts including property damage and a snowplow accident. Following the snowstorm on Monday, iconic pizza place East Side Cafe at 378 Newell St. blamed its smashed front window on rocks and debris tossed up by a speeding city plow. Guess what? More snow The US National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Wednesday, Jan. 25, for Berkshire County. The watch is in effect from 11 am to Thursday, Jan. 26 at 4 pm. Expect heavy mixed precipitation with total snow accumulations of 4 to 9 inches. A light ice accumulation is also possible.
